MO’ Cowbell Half Marathon
Posted under: Less than a year after learning the Lewis and Clark Marathon would be leaving the St. Charles area, running enthusiasts discovered a new, exciting race to look forward to: the MO’ Cowbell Half Marathon!
Organized by Partners for Progress of Greater St. Charles with the assistance of Big River Running Company, the MO’ Cowbell race was the first local half marathon committed to staying exclusively in St. Charles County.
Through a relationship with Partners for Progress, I was contracted in June 2011 to design and develop the race website. The CMS-driven site features social media integration, revolving content, a burgeoning discussion area, and the ability to expand as the race grows.
Measurable results: More than 1,500 runners and 200 volunteers took part in the innagural MO’ Cowbell Half Marathon. In three months, more than 33,500 website visits were logged and 750 “liked” the race on Facebook.
